Our love story began in an unexpected way, with an older brother who decided that Elton and I would be the perfect match for one another. Elton’s brother gave my number to him, and the rest was history.

 

On a Saturday afternoon in March 2022, I was sitting in front of the TV when I received the message. Little did I know that this one message would change my life forever. Elton and I quickly became close friends, and I truly enjoyed getting to know him.

 

The more we spoke, the more our feelings for each other grew. But, like many love stories, it was not all easy. I may have played a little “hard to get,” but Elton was up for the challenge.

 

In September 2022, we decided to take a big step to meet each other. It required me to travel to Cape Town for 12 hours by bus so that we could finally meet in person. It turned out to be one of the best weekends of our lives. We enjoyed every moment together, and it felt as though we had known each other forever.

 

After that weekend, there were still many goodbyes and long-distance moments ahead of us. We could never stay away from each other for too long. As time went on and we spent more time together, we realised that our relationship was far more than just a normal long-distance relationship.

 

Three years later, on a beautiful, chilly evening in Hermanus, Elton proposed to me. Out of love for him, I said yes immediately.

 

Today, we are happily engaged and busy planning our wedding.

 

And now, with great excitement, we look forward to the next chapter of our story together.
